Jurisdiction : The jurisdiction of the High Commission of India, Kingston spreads over Jamaica, Cayman Islands, Turks & Caicos Islands and The Bahamas. Passport, Visa and Consular services can be granted by this Mission only to the persons resident in these countries.

 

NOTICE:  It is hereby notified that on account of requirement for adjustment, the Consular fee for all the Consular/Miscellaneous services, OCI, PIO and visa applications (except Jamaican passport holders seeking Visa) submitted would stand increased by US$ 3/- in each case with effect from 15 July, 2011.

            *An Additional Verification charges of US$15 is added in the following cases:

 

 (i) New passport in lieu of passport issued in India or any other Mission other than HCI Kingston.

 (ii) All cases where a reference need to be made to India or respective Mission.

FEES ARE ACCEPTED THROUGH BANK DRAFT ONLY.  Personal/company cheque or Cash are not accepted.

 Imposition of penalty u/s 12(1A) of the Passports Act 1967 for not surrendering Indian Passports / traveling on Indian passports after acquisition of foreign citizenship.

According to the Indian Citizenship Act, Indian nationals cannot hold dual nationality and have to renounce Indian citizenship and surrender Indian passport at the time of obtaining foreign nationality. Retention of Indian passport as well as travel on Indian passport after acquisition of foreign nationality is an offence punishable under the Indian law. The relevant legal provision under the Indian Passport Act 1967 are as follows:

Provisions of Section 12(1A) of the Indian Passports Act 1967

“Whosoever, not being a citizen of India
(a) makes an application for a passport or obtains a passport by suppressing information about his nationality, or
(b) holds a forged passport or any travel document,

shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which shall not be less than one year but which may extend to five years and with fine which shall not be less than ten thousand rupees but which may extend to fifty thousand rupees”.

Penalty on a graded scale for such violations is given below:-

The individual who pays fine for violation of the provisions of the passport Act 1967, may invariably obtain a receipt from the Mission.


A - PASSPORT SERVICES

I. Fresh Passport in lieu of an old passport

(i) The completed application form duly signed in the appropriate spaces

(ii) Four photographs

(iii) Your passport and any additional booklets issued to you

II. Fresh Passport for your newborn child

(i) The completed application (Miscellaneous services) form for registration of birth of your child

(ii) The Column 8 in Registration form, duly completed. Please note that it is a requirement to register your new born child within one year of child's birth with the Indian Mission under whose jurisdiction (for Indians) the place of birth of your child is covered.

(iii) Completed application form for passport with particulars of your child duly filled in. The application is required to be signed by the parent or guardian.

(iv) The original Birth certificate of the child

(v) Passports and additional booklets, if any, of both parents/guardian

(vi) In case the application for passport is signed by the mother, an affidavit would be required to be submitted by the father indicating his no objection to his wife applying for an Indian passport for the child. In case the father is residing abroad on the date of application, this affidavit would be required to be consularised by the concerned Indian Mission abroad.

(vii) The original marriage certificate

(viii)Three photographs of the child

(viii) One photograph of the parent applying for registration

III. Fresh Passport for your child after deletion of his/her name from either parent's passport

(i) Completed application signed by the parent concerned for deletion of name of the child from his/her passport.

(ii) All documents as listed in II (iii),(v), (vi), (yiii) above

(iii) One photograph of parent applying for deletion of name of the child from his/her passport

IV. Renewal of Passport

(i) Completed Application form signed in appropriate spaces provided.
(ii) Your Passport issued for limited validity and Additional Documents, if any, issued to you.
(iii) The old Passport and Additional Booklets, if any, issued.

V. Additional Booklet

(i) Completed Application, duly signed in the appropriate spaces provided
(ii) Your Passport and Additional Booklets, if any issued
(iii) Three photographs

VI. Change in Name

VI-i For minors
(i) The completed Application form signed by either parent
(ii) Affidavit signed by the parent in the requisite proforma
(iii) Passport of the child

VI-ii Change in Surname for ladies after marriage

(i) Completed Application, duly signed in the spaces provided
(ii) Your Passport and Additional booklets, if any, issued to you
(iii) Original Marriage Certificate
(iv) Affidavit in the requisite proforma
(v) Husband's Passport

VI-iii In other cases: Change of name including First (Given) name, middle name(s) or Surname

(i) Completed Application, duly signed in spaces provided

(ii) Please publish your act of changing your name from your old name to your new name, specifying the old and new names, in :

(a) A newspaper in the place of your permanent residence (as indicated in your passport) in India.

(b) A newspaper in the place of your normal residence in country of jurisdiction of this Mission

(iii) Enclose the relevant pages of the newspapers with your application

(iv) Your Passport and Additional Booklets, if any issued

(v) Four photographs


VII. Emigration Clearance Not Required Status

(i) Completed Application form, duly signed in the spaces provided

(ii) Original Graduation Degree issued by a recognised Indian University/Institute

(iii) Your Passport and Additional booklets, if any, issued

(iv) Three photographs

VIII. Police Clearance Certificate

(i) Completed Application forms, duly signed in the spaces provided

B. Consular Services - includes Attestations of documents and sponsorships

(i) Completed Application form (Miscellaneous Services) or Sponsorship form, as appropriate, duly signed in the space(s) provided

(ii) Yours Passport and Additional documents, if any Issued

(iv) Other documents and fee - please check with the High Commission for specific documents and supporting documents required to be presented/enclosed and the exact consular fee payable for the specific service required by you

NOTE:1: The application(s) must be complete in all respects. Please note that incomplete Application(s) may delay the processing of your case .

NOTE:2: The application(s) are to be accompanied by the requisite processing fee for (or Passport and Consular services. Fee for processing your application is not refundable

NOTE:3: Passport/Consular Fee is payable by Bank Draft payable in full "High Commission of India, Kingston".

NOTE:4: The High Commission would require an authorisation from the applicant for handing over his/her passport to a person other than the applicant
